Arty Yves

There are some things in life,  that we just want. An Yves St Laurent's 'Arty Oval Ring' is one of those things.

I first stumbled across these stunning, eye catching rings months ago and fell instantly, obsessively in love with them! In colours ranging from a volcanic coral, mesmerising turquoise, magical rockpool blue, and pearly pink, it is hard to pick a favourite!

My obsession with these gorgeous rings was reconfirmed last weekend, when while at a cafe I spotted a girl wearing an amazing turquoise one, and then that night...I dreamt about it?!?!

If anyone happens to have a spare one lying around.... you know where to find me! Otherwise, I will continue my dreaming about the day I finally get an YSL arty oval ring!

Untouched: Models - Makeup = Beauty?

"Take away the airbrushing, the makeup team, the hair-stylists, the fancy clothes and what are you left with: just a model, a photographer and the power of an image"
http://models.com

So sorry for being away for so long! I've been meaning to post this for a while now but got so caught up with exams and everything else that I haven't had the chance to update anything! Anyway I'm back now and promise to be much better!! Introducing...  'Untouched'

This exhibition 'Untouched' which features purely real and unretouched model portaits by photographer Scott Trindle, is a much needed breath of fresh air. Pure and simple, it was recently showcased in London at the Rochelle School of Arts. Here are just a few of the amazing photos from the collection.

The strange...and the stranger

Nowadays, everything is art.

Because who can say what is or isn't; it's all a matter of perspective and personal taste. How else can we explain artists painting one coloured line across an otherwise blank canvas, then having it hung in a museum and justified as art?

Fashion is an art form, so does that mean that there is no right and wrong in fashion; that someone could send a model dressed in an oversized paperbag down the runway and call it couture? Designers do this ALL the time (not with paperbags necessarily!), they create fashion looks that no sane person would ever wear in their normal life, yet they are somehow acceptable on the runway, and seen as 'art'.

I have no problem with this, in fact it's one of the things I love about fashion and couture shows. Fashion designers transform into artists as their inner thoughts and feelings translate into completely mindblowing outfits, or shocking fashion statements created to push the boundaries as far as possible.

Is there a line? When does fashion stop being fashion and just become...strange?

I think these innovative, crazy outfits from the 'Beckmans College of Design fashion show' are definitely pushing that barrier and balancing on the fine line between art and insanity!

Coco Nouveau

Coco Chanel was famous for her sleek, elegant, and sometimes even boyish designs...

So there is no questioning whether Karl Lagerfeld has kept the Chanel legacy in mind when he designed these gorgeous bags. Inspired by a hunter's cartridge bag carried by the lady herself, these stylish 'Boy Bags' are the newest release from the legendary design house.

Not actually intended for men, the new bags are titled 'boy' because of the love of Coco's life; Boy Capel, who is said to have inspired her and the very spirit of Chanel, which is perfectly encapsulated in these sure to be coveted bags.

Available in a range of sophisticated colours; flat red, deep black, intense grey, lead green and brilliant ivory, they will be hitting stores this September.

I'll take one of each please!
